It has been my honor to represent the 26th District these past years. After much consideration, I am endorsing Tamara Davis Brown to replace me in the Maryland State Senate.
For well over a decade, I have watched Tamara grow into a committed community activist and advocate. I have seen her speak truth to power and influence legislation that improves our quality of life as Prince Georgians. I have also seen her educate and inform many of us in District 26 on many important issues. She is knowledgeable and speaks in layman’s terms on proposed legislation, fostering a deeper understanding of how it impacts our community.
Tamara has been a leader in education. She has served as a Board Member on the Parent Teacher and Student Association (PTSA) and mentor for the Student Government Association of Oxon Hill High School and John Hanson Montessori.
Tamara is an advocate for public safety. As a member of the District IV Police Citizens’ Advisory Council, she worked with neighbors to get a Southern Tier patrol to reduce police response times and keep our communities safe. Her continued advocacy resulted in the construction and staffing of the new Police District VII Station so that police staffing resources could be directed to areas that need them the most.
Work on transportation improvements is never ending. Tamara has worked diligently for road improvements, curtailing traffic accidents and changing the behavior of distracted drivers so that our roads are safer and less deadly.
Tamara’s resume of community service and activism speaks for itself, and many District 26 residents call on her to assist with civic and legal matters. A Howard University School of Law trained attorney, she is the epitome of a “Social Architect.” Tamara is always on the right side of the issue and history. You can trust her judgment. She possesses high ethical standards and a true moral compass.
Tamara’s record of community service demonstrates she cares. She cares about our community. She cares about our quality of life. She cares about the education system. She cares about our public safety. She cares about our seniors, veterans, and youth. She cares about supporting our local and small businesses.
The bottom line is that she has been doing all the above and is not even elected yet. Imagine how hard she will work for us when she is. She will be an effective State Senator.
In addition, Tamara has assembled a great legislative team to work with her Annapolis.
She understands that it takes a great team to be successful.
